Duties
The applicant selected for the St. Louis Office will serve as an Executive Assistant performing duties such as:
Planning, coordinating, and managing administrative affairs.
Executing special administrative assignments of a complex and responsible nature (e.g., performing a variety of special assignments of a one-time or recurring nature for executives and other staff members).
Coordinating and implementing innovative administrative initiatives to improve the process of requesting, receiving, compiling, examining, maintaining substantive legal and/or legislative documents from various entities within EDMO, and from other
agencies and organizations external to EDMO.
Performing, establishing, and prioritizing exclusive secretarial duties (e.g., managing calendars, appointments, meetings, engagements, and conferences, etc.) for executives,
Providing administrative support to the District's Public Affairs Specialist in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with print and broadcast media representatives.
Maintaining and Prioritizing multiple assignments with competing deadlines.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
- You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.
Qualifications
To be eligible at the GS-11, you must have at least meet ONE of the following conditions:
one year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level (described below),
meet education requirement (described below),
or meet the required amount of education and experience required (described below).
Specialized experience is defined as experience in performing the following types of duties: maintaining calendars, appointments, meetings, engagements, and conferences of management; managing executive correspondence to include proofreading, editing, preparing correspondence for signature, and tracking the status of documents; working independently and making sound decisions reflecting good judgment; and working under the pressure of short deadlines.
Education requirements for this position are as follows: 1) Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 2) 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or 3) LL.M., if related.
Combined Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed education ( master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2) 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or 3) LL.B. or J.D., if related) and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the GS 11. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.

Education
