You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) in the Physical Evaluation Board of SECNAV CORB.
Duties
You will independently review physical disability determinations made by Informal and Formal Boards and disability ratings provided by aligning adjudications with disability conditions and percentages.
You will be responsible for authorizing substantial financial and manpower commitments for the organization.
You will be responsible for resolving issues, provide training on quality assurance procedures and provide advice and assistance on appropriate processing and/or disposition to personnel.
You will be responsible for interpretation of disability separation and retirement regulations and relating regulatory directive and monitors the status of cases.
You will generate performance reports, and advise the organizations leaders of potential problem areas and/or methods and procedures to improve internal operations.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
*Experience with Integrated Disability Evaluation System and Legacy Disability Evaluation System
*Experience interpreting Department of Defense, Department of the Navy (DON), and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) regulations
*Knowledge of quality assurance processes and experience working in a quality assurance role
*Experience integrating and aligning VA disability ratings with DON Physical Evaluation Board decisions regarding the fitness of Sailors and Marines to continue service
*Experience interacting with senior military officers and physicians

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
