As a NBE/BE (Technical Expert - Commercial Credit Risk) in BSP, Commercial Credit Risk, you will consult with OCC lead examiners, peers in the industry, and other regulatory agencies; develop policy and expertise for field examiners; address areas of significant risk in the industry; evaluate the effectiveness of policy; and coordinate efforts with relevant experts in Bank Supervision.
Although Washington, DC is the preferred location, Alternate Location Arrangement will be considered.
Duties
As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Technical Expert - Commercia Credit Risk), you will:
Serve as an expert advisor to OCC management, headquarters' units, and field examiners on highly technical and complex issues related to commercial credit products, including leveraged lending, commercial real estate, commercial and industrial, asset based and other commercial lending products.
Identify significant commercial credit risks in the federal banking system which includes coordinating the ongoing monitoring and analysis of industry practices and trends, as well as the development and implementation of supervisory policies and examination procedures.
Promote quality assurance of OCC supervisory programs and assist OCC management in assessing field examiner expertise. Develop, maintain and disseminate policy interpretations, reference materials, and supervisory guidance to bankers and examiners across the federal banking system.
Provide internal and external training on highly complex and emerging commercial credit risk issues (e.g., large and complex syndications, leveraged lending, oil and gas, and real estate banking activities).
Lead and coordinate the preparation of testimony, speeches, presentations,training materials, correspondence, and reports on bank supervisory issues and emerging risk management topics.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-VI band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
Experience developing or reviewing supervisory policy for commercial credit risk and/or performing commercial credit risk examinations at a financial institution.
The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
