Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Detroit Sector, Mission Readiness Operations located in Selfridge AF Base, Michigan.


This position will allow you to use your expertise in administration to provide advisory and technical services to CBP management. Apply for this exciting opportunity to strengthen the Department's ability to perform homeland security functions by analyzing and refining existing work methods and developing new methods and procedures. This position starts at a salary of $91,270.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $118,651.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $ $118,651.00(GS-12 Step 10). As a Mission Support Specialist (Logistics), you will be applying a wide range of administrative programs concepts, laws, policies, practices and analytical methods to address technical issues or problems relating to logistics and procurement services and processes. Duties include: Manages the sector/station property program to include overseeing the ordering, receiving, inventorying, transferring, and excessing property. Creating requisitions and purchase orders to ensure budget approval; performing Purchase Card transactions. Managing Fleet program to include ordering, receiving, inventorying, transferring and excess fleet vehicles; managing fleet records and various fleet reports. Performing ongoing mentoring, training and guidance to peers, colleagues, employees and supervisors; assisting with developing and recommending solutions to a wide variety of logistics operations to improve services and process. Performing other mission support related activities such as scheduling travel, processing personnel actions for payroll, vacation and overtime; managing fleet card programs performing audits, extracting reports, reporting fraud and processing override requests.



Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing fleet records by creating, accepting and transferring fleet records; Creating requisitions and purchase orders to ensure budget approval; Developing and recommending solutions to a range of logistics operations and technical issues; Accounting for organization or agency equipment, property, and inventory; Conducting inventory and/or audits of organization or agency equipment, property and inventory. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 08/16/2023.
