About the Position: Position is to provide three major functions: (1) to serve as a POD regional technical specialist in NEPA resources and compliance; (2) to serve as the Honolulu's District's senior specialist in NEPA resources and compliance for planning, methods, policy, and procedures; and (3) to serve as the Honolulu District Environmental Justice Coordinator.
Duties
Apply environmental planning and implementation expertise in serving as a NEPA compliance expert for POD-wide projects.
Review environmental features of proposed Corps projects, i.e., NEPA documents for civil works projects, and various planning documents for civil works and Work for Others projects.
Serve as the District's NEPA compliance expert.
Provide authoritative advice on alternative mitigation and restoration plans and designs as well as during the construction, implementation, operation, and/or monitoring phases of projects.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary duty (TDY) travel is approximately 20%.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a driver's license in one of the 50 US states or possessions and any installation and/or DoD requirement.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as ensuring compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act along with developing environmental mitigation and restoration plans.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12.
