Duties

Assists in the management of military technical training allocations and the selection process for no-name allocations to include Officer/Enlisted PME. Assists Training Technician with civilian training program. Receives, logs, and reviews training requests to ensure they are complete, inputs training data into the automated system, notifies supervisors/employees of approved training and schedule changes, obtains course evaluations from students, and verifies completion of training. Manages and/or assists in the management of Professional Military Education. Manages and maintain the list of eligible individuals for Non-commissioned Office Academy (NCOA) and Squadron Officer School (SOS). Use Multiple Office Automation Applications. Produces a wide range of documents in various formats with varied computer applications.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training technician series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes knowledge of an extensive body of rules, concepts, techniques, procedures, and operations of technical training programs to perform a wide variety of assignments involved in the support of technical training functions. OR EDUCATION: Applicant has successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicant has a combination of experience as described in the job opportunity announcement and education. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in?-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-04 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-05 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Basic Knowledge of the civilian and military training programs, their objectives, policies, procedures, and requirements. Knowledge of and ability to use various applications related to program area, such as Personnel Data System and Personnel Concept III System. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs Qualified typist is required. Working knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedure to distribute mail, answer telephone, keep appointment calendar, maintain files/office forms, and order supplies. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
