About the Position: This position is located in Warren, Michigan. Serves as the responsible expert in the traffic management field providing advice and guidance on all aspects of the Command transportation and traffic management position.
Duties
Serves on procurement award and solicitation review boards as requested in order to provide guidance and assistance to contracting officers during the procurement cycle.
Advises materiel management officials, international logistics officials, program/project managers, government attorneys, product assurance officials, manufacturers.
Prepares and transmits long-range surface forecasts.
Participates in conferences, working groups and committees and resolves problems that develop.
Reviews transportation requirements outlined in a contract and clarified contract language in terms of intent of the contract.
Responsible for expediting, tracking and diverting assigned vehicles to support the timely fielding of force modernization vehicles/weapon systems.
Serves as point of contact for airlift/premium transportation authorization.
Serves as work leader in assigning tasks and providing guidance.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates a practical knowledge of 1) determining mode, selecting carriers, and achieving economies in packing and movement of materials. 2) Experience with the movement of hazardous materials including flammable materials, corrosive, poisonous, compressed gases, or combustible. 3) Experience in the procurement of common or specialized carrier and other transportation service for nationwide movement of freight by all modes.
