About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Traffic Management Specialist for the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Detroit Arsenal Transportation Division, at Warren, Michigan.
This position will be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months.
Duties
Perform contract administration/surveillance duties for agency issued and directed contracts for passenger travel by the commercial travel office and movement of personal property.
Serve as a technical expert in pre-solicitation meetings and evaluation boards.
Ensure implementation of directed policies and procedures for the movement of a wide variety of passenger, personal property, and freight.
Serve as principal technical transportation advisor to the command, supported activities and liaison representative with commercial concerns and other regulatory government agencies/commands.
Requirements

- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
- You will be asked to sign an agreement acknowledging that you are aware of the obligation and willing to be displaced under reduction in force procedures upon the return of the former incumbent.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- Term employment is subject to a one year trial period.

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Using traffic management policies, principles, and/or practices to complete passenger travel, personal property, and/or freight movement functions; 2) Analyzing the effectiveness of shipment and/or transportation programs involving material (freight), military impediments, and/or passengers; and 3) Evaluating contractor performance and/or capabilities for meeting contractual requirements for passenger transportation and/or freight shipments.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
