This position is located at the Morale, Welfare & Recreation Department, Naval Air Station Key West, FL. Incumbent provides technical support and training to users of the NAF Management Information System and Point of Sale System. Coordinates program needs with Information Technology personnel within Navy Marine Corps Intranet security guidelines. Provide managers with IT guidance making decisions on the administrative and programmatic aspects of IT operations and management within MWR.

Requirements

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
  • May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Knowledge of enterprise computer systems and infrastructure design. sound understanding of Microsoft operating systems, Citrix Systems and network infrastructure. Incumbent sufficient to perform configuration management for POS/MIS and to advise and assist both management and staff on functional use. Knowledge of training and teaching techniques required to sufficiently train front line personnel on the use of the various systems, applications and processes associated with the MIS/ POS systems. Must have knowledge of program requirements and equipment and possess a basic understanding of the role of the MWR Department activities that are dependent on the MIS/ POS systems. Knowledge of MWR NAF accounting, personnel, and procurement methodology is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in fiscal planning including planning, monitoring and execution of a departmental ??F budget. Must also be familiar with aspects of recapitalization planning, equipment depreciation, and managing projects of significant scope and size. Must be skilled in communicating orally and in writing in a clear, concise manner to individuals or groups at all levels of the chain of command. Persuasive and presentation skills are also necessary to the position. Ability to interpret directives, manuals, and Navy instructions with little or no guidance, particularly ag it pertains to Department of the Navy Information Technology policy and authorized systems. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations. Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of financial and management concepts and principles. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
