You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the G-6, Telecommunications and Information System Department of MCRD ERR PI SC.
Duties
You will perform analytical and evaluative duties related to computer networks.
You will work directly with leadership, staff and customers to research, diagnose, and resolve microcomputer hardware and software problems.
You will install, operate, maintain, and document Automated Information Systems (AIS) and application software.
You will provide technical expertise in managing multiple system configurations and resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability and recoverability.
You will ensure systems functionality, integrity, and availability.
You will long-range and short-range planning for the delivery if Information Technology (IT) and Audio Visual (A/V) services to include project Plan of Action and Milestone, timelines, budgetary requirements, and resource usage plans.
You will determine end-user requirements and develop policies governing IT activities in order to provide quality and timely customer services and system support.
You will develop technical specification/cost proposals for IT procurement, participate in the technical evaluation of bids and proposals received and monitor the procurement process if IT procurements.

- You must be willing and able to obtain and maintain Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certificate within 6 months of employment.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR level Advanced within 12 months of appointment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TOP SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires continuous learning (CL) program as described in SECNAVINST 5239.20A and SECNAV M-5239.2. An annual of 20 hours minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous learning is needed.

GS-12
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: In planning, developing, procurement, testing, integration, installation, utilization, modification, management, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology systems and Audio Visual system.
GS-11
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in planning, developing, procurement, testing, integration, installation, utilization, modification, management, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology systems and Audio Visual system.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the GS-11 position based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
GS-11
Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
OR
Successfully completed 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
