About the Position: Serves as a calibration specialist in the parameters of electrical, electronic, microwave, nucleonic, optical/laser, physical and dimensional standards and measurements applicable to the calibration, certification and evaluation of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE)
Duties
Provides calibration traceability through the Army Calibration Laboratory and Army Primary Standards Laboratory to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Provide information on TMDE accuracy's and uncertainties under a variety of conditions.
Performs repairs incidental to calibration as required by equipment specifications.
Selects, applies, and interprets electronic principles and practices as related to the specialty area as required to collect, reduce, display, analyze data.
Provide metrology information for a wide variety of general purpose TMDE.
Prepares reports to correct errors in existing procedures and provides technical information used in the decision making process for the development of documents used for TMDE certification.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator without more than normal supervision. Calibrate electrical, electronic, and/or physical dimensional test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment to determine functional accuracy and operational precision; make adjustments or repair incidental to calibration. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending during the course of extended periods on measurements. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
