About the Position: Serve as a Calibration Specialist in the parameters of electrical, electronic, microwave, nucleonic, optical/laser, physical and dimensional standards and measurements applicable to the calibration, certification and evaluation of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). US Army Aviation and Missile Command, Fort Bliss Texas.

Duties

Interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics and engineering drawings, and equipment specifications. Apply a practical knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and practices to repair TMDE. Determine appropriate calibration procedures and substituting calibration standards when required. Operate automated calibration systems to document results. Apply knowledge of metrology, electrical, electronic and electromagnetic theories, mechanical, pneumatic and nuclear science to the collection of measurement data. Apply mathematical concepts such as frequency domain analysis, and statistical concepts to analyze measurement data.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
