Duties
This position is established to provide assistant level support in the area of employee education and training, with duties related to budget, statistical reports and customer service.
-Performs work related to preparation, execution and/ or tracking of requests for vendors, contract agreements or contracts covering education training programs within Employee Education utilizing IFCAP.
-Maintains and processes education and automated training records and files.
-Plans, develops and coordinates training programs for the education tracking software.
-verifies that course/program was completed and maintains training records for reports and budgeting purposes.
-Assists division education liaisons with configuring special education reports.
-Retrieve and formats data for monthly, quarterly, and annual special reports.
-Manages documentation related to various local and national tuition and scholarship programs.
-Coordinates with Employee Education Instructors and other presenters to ensure effective operation of training program activities.
-Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access.
-Prepares a variety of written materials, such as letter/memorandums, surveys, labels and other support documents.
-Enhances the ability of the educational and training program to support overall mission requirements through the effective and timely performance.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/29/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Ability to analyze, verify and correlate basic data to support studies and surveys, including budget preparation, planning and justification. Ability to plan, develop and coordinate training programs for the education tracking software. Ability to instruct/teach. Skill in the development and/or review of training/education course material. Ability to use one or more established automated systems to enter, maintain and retrieve curriculum and/or course data and to compile reports, produce charts and graphs, or monitor project or curriculum status. Knowledge of standardized rules, procedures, terminology or requirements related to training and education activities and skill in applying these knowledge to work situations. Skill in writing routine letters, memoranda, and simple narrative reports..

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary. No special physical demands are involved. Some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items such as papers and files is required.
