Serves as a District Manager (DM) with line authority for overseeing and directing technical operations within one of multiple Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Technical Operations (AJW) Districts. Functions as the principal advisor for respective District operations and reports to the respective Service Area Deputy Director of Technical Operations. Incumbent works independently and has broad discretion to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and policies.

Duties

Directs a highly technical and diverse workforce in ensuring the effective maintenance and repair of National Airspace System (NAS) equipment and facilities. Incumbent will have day-to-day direction over 3-5 subordinate managers as well as functionally integrated teams of operational and support personnel. Interfaces with management across multiple organizational units and integrates projects/programs across multiple service units. Provides coaching, mentoring, and development of staff and organizational capabilities and is responsible for team building throughout the facilities in the District. Sets priorities, assigns tasks and responsibilities, and monitors and evaluates performance of organizational units within the District. Approves leave; and takes or approves corrective/disciplinary actions as appropriate.

Requirements

• US Citizenship is required.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

• A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-K, FG/GS-15.
