This position is part of the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute, Bureau of Indian Education (BIE). As a Supervisory Education Program Specialist (Director of Grants and Sponsored Programs) you will be responsible for oversite of the sponsored programs and Title III for SIPI. Serves as the director and administrator of education grants for the College and reports directly to the SIPI President.

Duties

As a Supervisory Education Program Specialist (Director of Grants and Sponsored Programs)GS-1701-13, your typical work assignments may include the following: Serves as the primary administrator for the college's Title III program, which includes planning, management, administration, coordination, reporting and compliance. Serves as the primary liaison between the college and U.S. Department of Education-Title III program regarding the college's Title III grant. Works with college leadership to identify priorities for seeking grants and to determine Title III initiatives. Serves as a resource in proposal development for the college. Collects and disseminates grant opportunities to college staff; and develops and maintains up to date basic college data/information for proposal development. Develops and implements policies and procedures for the implementation of the college's grants management responsibilities. Provides support for grant funded programs with fiscal management, accounting; cuff accounts; fiscal reporting; audits; interpretation of policies, procedures and regulations of grantors; renewal of grants; and provides advise on potential amendments to the projects.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position. or Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above. In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications requirements below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. GS-13: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Examples include Title III-Tribally Controlled Colleges and Universities program (which funds institutions on a formula-basis), W.K. Kellogg, USDA Endowment, National Science Foundation (NSF), US. Department of Education, etc.; establish policies and procedures for grants management, control processes and reporting systems; resolves or facilities the resolutions of related problems and issues; and provides technical support. Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.

Education
