This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, programming, and managing the fiscal budget, Directorate contracts, and other resources in support of all divisions within the Joint Staff, J8 Directorate.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ANALYST (RESOURCES & ACQUISITIONS) at the GS-0343-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Performs budget analysis on current funding levels and strategic planning for future budget projections.
Applies comprehensive knowledge of business and industry practices and procurement and contracting policies, methods, cost relationships and options.
Formulates regular, supplemental, and amended budget estimates and prepares justifications for other costs associated with supporting J8.
Applies contracting principles, policies, and procedures to all contracting actions as required.

- Must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft, vessels, and/or vehicles.
- Incumbents without previous Joint Staff experience must also attend the Joint Staff training course for new employees.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Planning, programming, and managing the fiscal budget;
Providing analytical services, staff advice, and assistance to managers and executive personnel concerning acquisitions, and contract management;
Formulating and establishing new and improved business procedures and techniques for contractual activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
