This position is located in Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Pacific Area/District 11, Air Station Ventura/FOB Point Mugu, Air Station Ventura, CA.

Duties

You will serve as Supply Technician and responsible to the Aviation Materiel Officer or Assistant Engineering Officer to provide clerical and technical support for the Aviation Engineering Department and to provide administrative support to facilitate the purchase, requisition, inventory, and budget processes of aviation materials.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Incumbent must be able to type 40 word per minute (wpm).

Qualifications

AT THE GS-07 GRADE LEVEL, Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level (in the federal sector). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience includes: Providing information relative to the inventory, storage, cataloging, receipt, and controlling processes; helping establish the AMO inventories, storage, and general parts organization for the newly commissioned air station; initiating, preparing, editing and processing requisitions to stock; searching catalogs, records, etc. to obtain or correct stock numbers or to find substitute stock items. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.  If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
