Duties
Close to the California mainland, yet worlds apart, the park encompasses five of the eight California Channel Islands (Anacapa, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, San Miguel, and Santa Barbara) and their ocean environment, preserving and protecting a wealth of natural and cultural resources. The park bridges two biogeographical provinces and in a remarkably small place, harbors the biologic diversity of nearly 2,500 miles of the North American coast. The Channel Islands are home to over 2,000 plant and animal species, of which 145 are found nowhere else in the world. Major Duties:
Provide for acquisition, utilization, protection and disposition of Federally owned personal property.
Utilize automated property system to maintain property records, determine the availability of excess property, conduct formal and informal inventory, and prepare reports.
Make approved supply purchases and maintain credit card logs following appropriate policy, rules, and regulations.
Ensure property is properly identified and accounted for by park management.
Provide excellent customer service for both internal and external customers.
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS (CONT):
You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
Applicants must be at least (1)18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-08/16/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience.

To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This specialized experience must include all the following:
1) assist with supply and property management for a unit;
2) maintain listings of accountable property;
3) prepare a variety of forms and reports;
4) receive supplies, materials and equipment for the unit checking against ordering documents
5) assist in preparing for annual inventories and participates in the inventory process.
You must include hours per week worked.
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This specialized experience must include all the following:
1) utilize supply policies, regulations, procedures and instructions to perform supply management duties;
2) operation of computerized information systems to facilitate inventory management, disposals, conduct research and resolve discrepencies;
3) provide instruction, training and leadership to property custodians and fleet managers
4) participate in physical inventories;
5) maintain the personal property system of records for the unit.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
