This position is part of the Education Facilities, Bureau of Indian Education. As a Property Management Specailist you will be responsible for providing expert operational and administration of an automated property management system and perform the full range of associated duties to ensure accuracy and validity of data and products.

Duties

As a Property Management Specailist GS-2001-11/12, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision: Carry out property management activities related to inventory and equipment management for assignment. Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of automated files and records on equipment and property. Perform quality assurance and review functions by controlling the distribution or redistribution of property within the Bureau of Indian Education equipment and supply system. Recommend solutions to the auditors concerning property management problems identified on financial statements or property records. Administer and coordinate space management requirements for assignments. Coordinate various tasks with other programs to ensure that transactions are completed. Serve as the primary evidence custodian responsible for the maintenance and oversight of evidence obtained in conjunction with criminal, civil, and administrative investigations.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. GS-11: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service that includes: Property management activities related to inventory, inspection, storage and distribution, and disposal of standard and nonstandard property and equipment; Resolving program issues and problems related to property management procedures; Establishing, monitoring and maintaining automated files and records on equipment to include tracking and reports using existing policies and standard operating procedures: Provide support and direction to lower level staff. -OR- Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree. (NOTE: Applicants who select this response MUST provide transcript(s) for verification of education.) -OR- Combination of successfully completed graduate level education beyond the first year of progressive graduate study, and specialized experience that together meets100% of the qualification requirements for the position. GS-12: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service that includes: Provide leadership and oversight to other supply/property specialists, and coordinate various supply/property functions; Evaluate and recommend various property/supply plans and proposals for projects; Use accountable property rules, fleet management principles, regulations, policies and other requirements of federal government sufficient to perform major duties and responsibilities of property management; Provide oversight in matters concerning property management assets and disposal, acquisitions and fleet management inventory. Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year (52 weeks) of service at the next lower grade level.

Education

This position does not have a positive education requirement at this grade level. Therefore, no transcripts are required unless using your education to meet the minimum qualification requirements.
