The NH-03 payband is equivalent to the GS-12 Step 01 to GS-13, Step 10.
Duties
Perform the duties of an Information Systems Security Officer.
Utilize standard research to solve cybersecurity related problems.
Evaluate system performance to ensure proper functionality.
Advise cybersecurity functionality programs to internal and external customers.
Implement network guideline policies to internal and external customers.
Provide cybersecurity and network guidance to the organization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a Sensitive Compartmented Information Security clearance.
- Obtain and maintain a Tier 4/Special-Sensitive Critical and Noncritical Sensitive, High-Risk Clearance.
- This position may require 5% temporary duty (TDY) travel.
- Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level II certification or must be able to obtain certification within six (6) months of appointment in accordance with DoD 8570.1m.
- Two-year probationary period may be required.
- Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
- This position is subject to polygraph examination.

Basic Requirements:
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas. To qualify based on your experience, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies:

3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to the four competencies, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Minimum Qualifications:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Ensure new hardware and software are in regulatory compliance; 2) Maintain the latest technology functionalities performs properly; 3) Facilitate the security application controls to internal customers; 4) Identify cybersecurity related problems that requires corrective action.
