Organizational Location: These positions are located in the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, in Arlington, Virginia and Fairfax, Virginia.
These are non-bargaining unit positions.
Duties
As a Mission Support Specialist, at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties:
Coordinating and perform a wide variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations of the office including, but not limited to management information systems, telecommunications, correspondence control, procurement, human resources, training, logistics, property, space, records and files, printing and graphics, mail, travel, and office equipment;
Advising management on assigned administrative matters;
Conducting or participating in the evaluation of administrative programs, systems and methods and identify ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these services at the local level;
Representing the office in dealings with vendors and organizations within and external to the agency that have primary responsibility for these services.

You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
Applying and modifying established practices to specific administrative problems with involve many variables;
Conducting independent evaluations on administrative functions and preparing study findings, recommendations and reports;
Making agreements and commitments at meetings and during telephone discussions in accordance with previously received instructions; and
Performing liaison functions with other organizations and establishing harmonious working relations with counterparts.
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
Independently coordinating business operations that affect or involve multiple geographically dispersed teams;
Providing authoritative advice, assistance, and guidance to supervisors, managers, and employees on complex and sensitive issues; AND
Conducting studies and presenting; and independently researching, responding to, and recommending solutions to unanticipated changes or issues.
