Duties

Independently performs a variety of complex budgetary, administrative, and statistical functions to support budget formulation. Independently performs tasks involving budget execution by compiling resource data from various financial management reports. Performs technical tasks in support of the financial analysis process. Conducts informal studies of financial management related procedures and processes (e.g., accuracy of shop rates, AF Form 9s, purchase requests, etc.). Provides quality customer service and establishes good working relationships with all employees and co-workers. Uses varied and advanced functions of word processing software to create, format, modify, edit, and print a variety of letters, reports, memos, and other textual documents.

  • This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d.
  • Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.
  • To be basically qualified for this position, applicants must meet the OPM qualification standard and must possess the following skill: Must be able to type 40 words per minute.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NK-I, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS 04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include actively contributes as a team member; takes initiative to accomplish assigned projects, identifies and pursues individual/team development opportunities, guides others in accomplishing projects, assuming ownership of personal processes and products, develops, modifies, and/or applies rules, procedures, or operations to resolve problems of moderate complexity/ difficulty, identifies and adapts guidance for new or unusual situations, plans and conducts technical activities for projects OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed 4 years above high school level education in a field directly related which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Accounting or Finance. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of the application of procedures, methods, and techniques which support the analysis and administration of the budget; and of a wide range of sources, types, and methods of funding. Knowledge of a wide variety of budgetary methods, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and precedents; and the accounting system and related documents used to gather and analyze budgetary information. Knowledge of automated management data systems. Knowledge of word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual documents, such as letters, reports, memos, and form letters. Skill in working accurately with figures; and in typing; a qualified typist is required. Ability to communicate orally and in writing PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
