This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, in the Office of Currency Manufacturing. As a Pressman (OFFSET/LEPE/COPE PAK), you will perform work requiring a wide variety of complex tasks associated with Offset and Typographic Printing technologies including printing U.S. government securities of currency.
Duties
As a Pressman (OFFSET/LEPE/COPE PAK), you will:
Receive print orders and determine or conform to the correct ink rotation and placement of plates for achieving the highest quality Offset Printing possible - ensuring extreme care and accuracy when performing all set up and make ready functions.
Make necessary adjustments to the press feeder and delivery systems.
Document all security loads of paper as required and adhere to the security rules and regulations set forth - maintaining a required daily log for production accountability and held accountable for accuracy of documentation created on his/her shift and distribution to the section supervisor.
Exercise professionalism of the craft performing difficult registration maneuvers including multiple patterns and process printing; use of and printing on various substrates and demonstrates knowledge of color control methods used in offset press printing including the programming and use of the online X-Rite Intellitrax system.
