As a Executive Assistant you will serve as the Executive Assistant (Office Manager) and has primary responsibility for handling sensitive and complex administrative issues and coordinating and managing a variety of administrative activities in support of the Executive Secretary and Deputy Executive Secretary. Aids in the preparation of materials and written products by reviewing information identified as highly significant or critical
Duties
Conduct independent and analyses of issues as assigned, involving reviews of complex program-related materials.
Develop and recommend enhancement to current practices to ensure the Executive Secretary and the Deputy Executive Secretary operates efficiently and effectively.
Conducts a conclusive review of all outgoing correspondence signed by the Secretary/Deputy Secretary/Chief of Staff, etc. Expedite accordingly, folders that are presented and considered Rush/Expedite items that require special attention.
Plans and develops communications materials, strategies and resources.
Carries out negotiations for the Office of Secretary involving contacts with public officials or professional organizations interested in policies, plan or operations.
Serves as principal advisor in developing systems and procedures for efficiently managing and processing controlled correspondence, top-level internal communications, and other priority written material on a Department-wide basis.

Specialized Experience:

To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-13) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves (1) Leading analytical studies on operational process for an office; (2) Participating in briefings with leadership staff; (3) Managing an office calendar; (4) Developing correspondences for leadership.
Education
There is no educational substitution for the GS-14 level.
