This position is located within the Fayetteville VA Health Care Center (HCC) in Fayetteville, NC responsible for providing technical and administrative/program support functions to the service.
Duties

Performs work involving the collection, compilation and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of program operation;
Establishes protocols for incoming data;
Follows up on action items to ensure timely response;
Performs work relate to the acquisition and/or development of program information and resource materials needed to support the HCC Administrators;
Prepares forms, memorandums, reports, and other correspondence, ensuring proper grammar, spelling, and format;
Prepares and maintains current guidelines and manuals pertinent to the department;
Arranges travel and accommodations for HCC Administrators;
Coordinates conferences and meetings, including preparing agendas, meeting minutes, etc.;
Maintains the time and attendance cards for the employees Serves as timekeeper for the service;
Receives visitors and telephone calls to the office;
Maintains calendar for appropriate staff and schedules appointments;
Maintains office supplies and equipment;
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. ~AND~
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following specialized experience: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-6) in Federal Service, that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties and that is typically in or related to the work of this position? Qualifying specialized experience includes performing administrative support functions such as tracking data and statistical information; scheduling appointments; coordinating meetings and conferences; preparing correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication; preparing travel arrangements; utilizing office automation software and maintaining files; receiving visitors and telephone calls to the office. NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must clearly indicate the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position, start and ending dates (month and year) of employment, and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
