Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-14 level you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-13 level defined as developing and implementing communication and outreach strategies; collaborating with or creating partnerships with internal and external partners and stakeholders; and participating in the development of ORD's National Research Programs research and planning process.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Knowledge of team building and project management methods sufficient to establish and maintain effective working relationships; 2) Knowledge of a wide range of analytical assessment methods for evaluating program development, execution, and improving organizational effectiveness and efficiency; 3) Skill in program planning; 4) Skill in facilitation strategies; 5) Skill in synthesizing and assimilating ideas quickly to present performance results and programmatic matters to internal and external stakeholders; 6) Skill in developing and/or coordinating the development of scientific technical fact sheets, presentation material and accomplishment reporting; 7) Ability to negotiate, plan, schedule and conduct projects and/or studies sufficient to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
