The Housekeeping Aid Leader serves as first level leadership and guidance to entry level and journeyman Housekeeping Aids in accomplishing the cleaning of administrative, patient and public areas. including any or all of the following: sweeping, mopping, bedmaking, terminal room cleaning, all phases of floor care, trash removal, dusting, polishing, cleaning of lights, wall washing, window washing, moving of equipment and other related functions (90%).
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Performance of office or non-manual work directly related to the management or general business operations, as distinguished from production functions, of the employer or the employer's customers and whose primary duty includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance (in terms of managing the enterprise). This would include staff work that is an extension of management and contains independent decision-making authority on such matters.

Human resources that formulate, interpret or implement HRM policies with authority to bind the organization to significant purchases financial management services as support services to agency components
employees who develop, interpret, and oversee agency policy
Project team lead
Executive assistant or administrative assistant to a high level manager or-senior executive if the employee has been delegated authority regarding matters of significance
Management analysts who study the operations of the organization and propose changes in the organization
Program analysts who study program operations and propose changes to the program
Provides consultation or expert advice to management
Involved in planning long or short term organizational objectives
Investigates and resolves matters of significance on behalf of management
Represents the organization in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes, or resolving grievances leads a team of other employees assigned to complete major projects (such as acquisitions or collective bargaining agreements)
Discretion and independent judgment:
An employee meets discretion and independent judgment criteria and is Exempt if he/she:
Has authority to formulate, affect, interpret, or implement management policies or operating practices. Carries out major assignments in conducting the operations of the organization, i.e.,
Perform work that affects the organization's operations to a substantial degree.
Has authority to commit the employer in matters that have significant financial impact. The authority to waive or deviate from established policies and procedures without prior approval and has authority to negotiate and bind the organization on matters.
Work Schedule: 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift, days of work could include weekends and holidays. (subject to change based on agency needs)

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Incumbent must be physically able to remain engaged in manual work requiring muscular effort the entire 8 hours of each shift. Work consists of all types of cleaning procedures and operation of various type of housekeeping equipment. Also involved in transport of soiled waste and regulated medical waste carts. Work is normally indoors in air conditioned/heated areas; however, transport of waste and medical waste may required short term exposure to the elements at the loading dock area. Appropriate personal protective equipment is provided when needed. Incumbent, on occasions, may work from ladders in such functions as cleaning lights, washing walls, dusting, and window washing.
