You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST in the SUPPLY DIVISION of COMNAVSPECWARDEVGRU.

Duties

You will serve as a subject matter expertise (SME) for domestic and international shipments, to include certification of hazardous material (HAZMAT) such as ammunition and explosives. You will prepare transportation discrepancy reports for line hauls. You will take appropriate action to prevent lost, damage and delayed movement of command property and equipment; resolve issues when they arise. You will serve as primary liaison with Surface Division Officer for preparing and issuing commercial bills of lading (CBLs) and government bills of lading (GBLs) for shipment of material/equipment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or Top Secret/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position is subject to maintain Transportation of HAZMAT Certification obtained through Naval Supply Systems Command.
  • This position is subject to possess HAZMAT shipment certification qualification.
  • This position is subject to obtain and maintain a government forklift license in support of warehouse operations.
  • This position is subject to obtain and maintain a government driver's license.
  • This position requires to report to the command when requested.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Developing plans, recommending management strategies, integrating applicable emerging supply chain procedures AND providing resolution of complex shipping and receiving issues. Education

Additional Requirements: In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on equivalent combination of education and experience, as follows:

Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
OR
Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
OR
Successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
