About the Position: Serves as the Senior TADSS Instructor who provides instruction and training in the proper utilization of virtual TADSS (Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations) that may require Instructor/Operator (I/O) support or familiarization training. Incumbent serves as the Training Support Center (TSC) senior subject matter expert for Virtual TADSS devices that must be utilized with safety as the primary focus.

Duties

Serves as the Training Support Center (TSC) subject matter expert for virtual Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Stimulations (TADSS) devices and plans training. Reviews work for efficiency of operations, effectiveness of training, technical accuracy, and regulatory adequacy of services rendered. Serves as the Senior Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Stimulations (TADSS) Instructor who provides instruction and training in the proper utilization of TADSS. Provides instructor services for Department of Army ? specified virtual Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Stimulations (TADSS). Manages Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement Systems (MILES) warehouse.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes (1) providing routine instruction and training in the proper utilization of Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS); (2) utilizing user-level Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) or troubleshooting procedures to identify faults; AND (3) determining appropriate level of maintenance for all TADSS. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementPlanning and EvaluatingTeaching OthersTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
