This position is located in the Legal Division, Supervision, Legislation & Enforcement Branch, Enforcement Section, Risk Management and Anti-Money Laundering Unit of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of legal matters relating to enforcement actions and providing legal advice to operational divisions of the FDIC concerning the examination, supervision, and regulation of insured depository institutions (IDIs).

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.  Additional qualifications information can be found here. J.D. or LL.B degree required. Active Membership in good standing of the bar of at least one state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience in (1) providing legal advice and recommendations related to either: (a) financial services laws and regulations; or (b) enforcement actions; and (2) conducting legal research and preparing memoranda on the interpretation of routine financial services or enforcement action laws and regulations such as the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, the Federal Reserve Act, or the Bank Secrecy Act.
