Duties
This position is located in the Office of the Director, Peace Corps headquarters, Washington DC. The incumbent serves as an Executive Assistant to one of the senior leaders of the Agency and performs a variety of tasks and duties in support of administrative and management issues and functions for the Director's Office. The incumbent develops, coordinates, manages, leads, and delivers multiple administrative activities and communications to support management requirements. Relieves the supervisor of detailed planning related to wide variety of complex administrative operations and activities. Assists in managing daily business functions and operations. Manages schedules, correspondence, and communication flow. Assists in managing key activities by furnishing a high level of support, services, and disposition of a variety of substantive administrative matters, assignments, and projects. Conducts realistic assessment of situations, and identifies, recommends, and implements needed changes.
The incumbent of this position will be assigned to a 'senior leader (Principal Officer), and provides support and assistance in managing daily office activities, planning, and scheduling arrangements. You will be responsible for executing a wide variety of administrative actions, and analyzing, advising, and resolving a variety of matters for operational efficiency. Level of activities are time sensitive and require extensive coordination, planning and critical thinking to stay abreast on all ongoing actions and provide continuity for plans and operations. Work requires extensive liaison and the incumbent coordinates efforts, as appropriate, with other staff in the Director's Office to avoid duplication or conflict. You may be privy to sensitive confidential matters and information, and must apply a high level of tact, discretion, judgment, and confidentiality in performing the functions of this position.

This position is being announced at two grade levels:
FP-03
Specialized Experience: You must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the FP-04 or the GS-12 grade level in federal service that demonstrates experience analyzing problems and other issues to determine the most appropriate course of action; collaborates with other staff to assist with developing, analyzing, evaluating, and reviewing projects, assignments, and problems; and coordinates administrative matters between organizations to ensure open communication and address issues for specific administrative oversight and responsibility.
FP-04
Specialized Experience: You must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the FP-05 or the GS-11 grade level in federal service that demonstrates experience collaborating with other staff to assist with developing, analyzing, evaluating, and reviewing projects, assignments, and problems and coordinating administrative matters between organizations to ensure open communication and address issues for specific administrative oversight and responsibility.

Time-in-Grade Requirements:
You must meet applicable TIG requirements to be considered eligible. To meet TIG for positions above the GS-05 grade level, you must have served at least one year (52 weeks) at the next lower grade (or equivalent) in the normal line of progression for the position you are applying to. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Please note: Peace Corps employees are employed using the Foreign Personnel (FP) pay scale. The FP pay plan does not follow the same structure as the GS pay plan. In the FP pay plan, as the grade-level numbers decrease the level/pay for the position increases (e.g., the FP-09 is the lowest entry-level pay and the FP-01 is the highest senior-level pay).
