The primary purpose of this position is to instruct in the Cyber Transport Courses, utilizing approved curriculum IAW AETC instructions. Performs all classroom-related activities and course curriculum development/revision efforts. Researches, analyzes, coordinates and integrates current technology, policy, doctrine and tactics to support course curriculum.

Duties

1. Conducts classroom, laboratory and field instruction for blocks of assigned courses. 2. Independently researches, develops, maintains and updates material to support the assigned courses. 3. Monitors and evaluates student progress and performance. Counsels students in the areas of performance, classroom conduct, attitude and participation. 4. Accomplishes special projects related to specialty area. Provides input into the development of processes designed to improve procedures and baselines for the technical training process.

  • This is a Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) faculty position. Positive education requirement, at a minimum, employee must possess a two-year Associate degree awarded by a regionally accredited program and institution
  • Condition of employment is contingent upon a physical being successfully passed. This is a minimum physical requirement that has been established for this position in which the employee must be able to lift at a minimum of 40lbs
  • Position may require travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY

Qualifications

*This is a CCAF position* All faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of College and Schools, Commission of Colleges; SACS-COC, i.e., all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. The degree should be in the teaching discipline. If the degree is not in the teaching discipline, the faculty member must have documented experience, course work, and/or other training in the teaching discipline. NOTE: You MUST submit a copy of your transcripts. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1712, Training Instruction Series. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes comprehensive practical knowledge of computer system/networking/electronic systems technology maintenance subjects, to include computer networking, network integration, C2 systems integration, IP routing, remote access, bandwidth management, crypto configuration, network optimization and testing, wireless voice/data/video and awareness of technological changes or new developments, such as would be gained through extended experience and on-the-job training combined with practice and study. Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of instruction and training aids and devices used in training programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position, GS-07. OR Education:Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR a LL.B. or J.D. Education must have major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Comprehensive practical knowledge of computer system/networking/electronic systems technology maintenance subjects, to include computer networking, network integration, C2 systems integration, IP routing, remote access, bandwidth management, crypto configuration, network optimization and testing, wireless voice/data/video and awareness of technological changes or new developments, such as would be gained through extended experience an on-the-job training combined with practice and study. 2. Knowledge of instructional design aid materials development for assigned courses. 5. Knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives. 6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
