This position is announced by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Secretary, Under Secretary for Management, Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer (CRSO). CRSO is responsible for unified headquarters consolidation strategy and policy for DHS and conducts strategic planning analysis, and development in support of the DHS strategic consolidation plan.
Duties
This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary for Management, Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer, Office of Facilities and Operational Support, DHS Real Property Portfolio and Planning – NCR in Springfield, VA. The purpose of the position is to exercise supervision over the acquisition, utilization, management, reporting and disposal of real estate, consisting of assets in leased and government owned space under the jurisdiction of Headquarters (HQ).
Requirements

- You will be required to complete an OGE 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, within 30 days of starting your federal employment and annually thereafter as long as you occupy a position that requires financial disclosure reporting.
- New supervisors/managers must successfully complete a 1-year probationary period.
- This position requires you to have access, safeguard, and store classified national security information on a regular basis. You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Current and former federal employees within the General Schedule (GS) must meet the time-in-grade requirements outlined in the "Qualifications" section of this announcement.

The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level performing: 1) Analyzing new real estate rules and regulations to determine impact on current business processes and how to implement necessary updates; 2) Collaborating with customers to define their real estate needs (i.e. location, type of space required, size, short/long term plans, etc.) and develop an execution plan; 3) Evaluating real estate operations to identify resource use and overall program effectiveness; 4) Providing real estate guidance to customers and subordinates to ensure thorough understanding regarding assigned programs; 5) Performing the full range of supervisory duties (i.e. assigning work, developing performance standards, recommending personnel actions, etc.).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps and AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel Management must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
