The incumbent works with a diverse group of stakeholders to modernize the services SSA delivers based upon quantitative and qualitative assessments of customer/business needs and SSA's ability to make use of the latest technology. The incumbent is a leading product management authority across the agency over their specific product/s.
Duties
Serves as a leading product management authority and advisor to top SSA management officials concerning the modernization and development of agency-wide directives,
(Cont'd) standards, specifications, policies, implementing strategies, management guidelines, procedures, or practices.
Oversees multiple and/or complex, enterprise-level initiatives that are large in scope and cost with significant impact and visibility across the agency.
Leads discovery process and develops and maintains the vision and goals of the product and ensures they are being met by the product team.
Collaborates across products and components with other Business Product Managers in the planning and direction of highly complex initiatives, which require study, and possible modification of business processes or functions.
Prepares background papers, confidential reports, briefing materials, and recommendations for SSA executives. Develops and presents analyses of controversial matters and performs confidential and sensitive assignments.
Provides expert guidance on policy proposals, and guides SSA management in the development of policy and procedures and the adoption of new information technologies.
Provides employee performance feedback to product team supervisors or resource managers. Oversees business and technical acceptability for the product and is responsible for ensuring customer needs are met.

Qualifications
Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience must include: collaborating with business sponsors, IT stakeholders and customers to develop applications to modernize, re-write, or enhance programmatic systems. Experience should also include managing product and project lifecycles using Agile methodologies, with demonstrated experience ensuring alignment between product deliverables and actual production releases.
