Duties

In this position, you will serve as Deputy Executive Director. Typical work assignments include: Oversee much of the daily operation of the agency and assist the Executive Director in the performance of a wide range of functions necessary to effectively implement the AbilityOne Program, including maintenance of the AbilityOne Procurement List and oversight of nonprofit agencies participating in the AbilityOne Program. Provide overall direction and guidance to the Commission staff, as well as the staff of the designated Central Nonprofit Agencies (CNAs). Oversee the development of proposals and recommendations for review by the Commission on legislative, policy, and major procedural changes associated with the implementation of the Javits-Wagner-O'Day Act (JWOD) Act. Oversee the development and implementation of the Commission's strategic planning responsibilities under the Government Performance and Results Act. Represent the Commission in contacts with key or senior officials in Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the Federal Government, State and local governments, nonprofit agencies, private corporations, and disability advocacy organizations.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: 1) Communicating program direction and requirements to a wide range of internal and external audiences; 2) Advising program staff and external agencies on the agency's mission, strategic direction, and business practices; 3) Recommending improvements to the agency's staffing and resource utilization to meet agency objectives; 4) Implementing policies and procedures to improve program performance; and 5) Maintaining agency's Procurement List of supplies and services to ensure accuracy. In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.
