About the Position: Provide Engineering Technician support for a variety of projects which include civil works and military projects. This position is with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, Engineering Management Branch, Cost Engineering Section.
Management may select at any grade level with the target grade of GS 11.
Duties
Prepares current working estimates and IGE?s for military and civil construction projects.
Prepares the government estimate of time and cost of services and negotiates the contract terms, conditions and cost.
Works with other cost engineers in completing daily tasks.
Attends required meetings and updates the project delivery teams of cost engineering guidance and policy.
Identifies risk associated with cost and assists in mitigating them.

Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 level in the Federal service which includes coordination of all drawings and CAD/BIM files for projects; developing and preparing cost estimates with oversight by engineers; performing quantity take offs and other cost estimating tasks at the direction and with oversight of engineers; and reviews cost estimates prepared by others for adherence to CAD/BIM standards.
Specialized Experience GS-10: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service which includes coordination of multiple engineering disciplines' cost estimates; independently developing and preparing cost estimates utilizing plans through CAD/BIM software systems; preparing cost estimates for small or conventional projects with oversight from engineers; and reviewing plans and CAD/BIM files prepared by others for technical sufficiency and adherence to CAD/BIM standards.
Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 level in the Federal service which includes coordination of multiple disciplines' cost estimates for large or complex projects; independently developing and preparing cost estimates using plans through CAD/BIM software systems; performing cost estimates for small or conventional projects with minimal input from engineers; and reviewing cost estimates prepared by others for technical sufficiency and adherence to CAD/BIM standards.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent.
