About the Position: The Alaska District is seeking to fill a Project Scheduler position located in the Design Branch. An ideal candidate will have experience in project scheduling and/or a background in database management. Possess experience in the use of software programs for scheduling and database input and report production, to include MS Project, MS Power BI, Qlik Sense, EMS (USACE Engineering Management System), etc. Must be able to communicate well with project managers and others.

Duties

Provides technical support to the Design Branch by building and maintaining project design schedules in the engineering management system database. Prepares technical reports, documents and various correspondence for inclusion in briefing slides Uses a wide variety of word processing, spreadsheet, database, project management and reporting software programs. Produces data and graphics as requested to others with information regarding workload analysis, schedule conflicts, and other metrics.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain a T3 Secret security clearance.

GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes project scheduling activities, database input and management; and applying database information to produce reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration or Finance. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementCustomer ServiceFinancial ManagementTechnical CompetenceWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement GS-11: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-9).
