About the Position: You will serve as Management Support Assistant (OA) for the Range Officer Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (DPTMS) and its subordinate organizations. You will provide administrative support services essential to the operation of staff involved in military personnel, civilian personnel, and general management functions.
Duties
Implement new instructions and policies that effect the organization operations, personnel, and administrative activities.
Serve as backup in coordinating, planning and scheduling of overall organizational training.
Perform timekeeping functions and related duties using an automated reporting system, such as DCIPS and ATAAPS.
Serve as the Defense Travel System (DTS) Travel Specialist.
Responsible to initiate, prepare, and track personnel actions such as awards and appraisals.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- Up to 5% business travel may be required.
- Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Develop and maintain statistical reports, spreadsheet, project plans and correspondence, 2) Utilize computer software to complete time keeping reports and to schedule travel, and 3) Evaluate and review civilian personnel actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
