You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (RFI) in the Provost Marshal/Marine Corps Police Department of MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT.
Duties
You will issue, recover, maintain, and safeguard daily accountability of weapons, ammunition, and equipment stored in arms room.
You will conduct inventories of weapons, ammunition, and equipment in accordance with regulations and polices.
You will ensure system is maintained in proper working order, and ensure restricted and IDS signage are properly posted.
You will establish and maintain files in accordance in accordance with regulations and polices.
You will inform management on the status or other business information regarding supplies or equipment from the arms room.
You will document all inventory discrepancies and make appropriate notifications.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Must be 18 years of age. Must read, write and speak English.
- This is a Department of Navy Drug Testing Designated Position (TDP). Required to undergo pre-employment urinalysis requirements and sustainment drug testing.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- You must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and be able to maintain a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator's license.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is subject to work that regularly includes assignment to a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required.
- You will be required to complete Arms, Ammunition and Explosive screening, pre-employment and maintain as required.
- Due to physical requirements, must be able to pass an entry medical/physical examination as well as subsequent physicals required by position.
- You will be required to satisfactory pass the Police Applicant Suitability Review (PASR) investigation.
- You must pass all weapons qualifications test prior to assigned duties and responsibilities and must pass all re-qualifications as required.
- May be recalled to duty on weekends or holidays. May be required to work rotating shifts, work overtime or on an emergency basis and other than normal duty hours.
Qualifications
GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: issuing, maintaining, and accounting for ammunition, weapons, and other arms room equipment; requesting supplies, utilizing database systems and conducting inventories of weapons, equipment, and ammunition.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess.
You may also meet the minimum qualifications through education and/or combination of education and experience by satisfying one of the following:
Successfully completed four years of education above high school.
OR
Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to 1 year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal to 100 percent.
