About the Position:
Incumbent will serve as a Management Assistant (Office Automation), to provide management assistant, statistical and administrative support to the Department Chief and department personnel under supervision of the Department Chief in the Army Med Center William Beaumont in DIR Surgery and DIR Surgery - Orthopedic Service. Location Fort Bliss Texas.
Duties
Provide substantive technical assistance to the Department Chief and project managers assigned to the department.
Conduct department management reviews and prepares descriptive reports, assist in identifying and resolving problems with the chief of the Department.
Assist in the study of office space utilization problems for the division to ensure that changes in utilization are made according to allocated floor space.
Serve as department Training Coordinator for civilian personnel.
Prepare department internal reports which reflect the overall civilian strength posture of the organization.
Requirements

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes documented experience which demonstrates 1) conducting department management reviews and submitting reports using automation systems; 2) preparing and editing reports, budget reports and other suspense documents in accordance with established policies and regulatory guidance; 3) Maintaining organizational and office filing system in accordance with established procedures and regulations; 4) coordinating daily schedules and calendars. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
There is no position in the normal line of progression in the organization. Therefore, To Qualify in-service applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the second lower grade/level (GS-05). OUTSIDE APPLICANTS (those without current or prior Federal service), must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to a least the next lower (GS-06) grade/level.
Typing Proficiency: A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
