About the Position: This position supports the mission of the Defense Center for Public Health-Aberdeen (DCPH-A) and it is located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.

Duties
Perform the full range of administrative and clerical duties for the DCPH-A Director and Deputy Director.
Maintain Director's and Deputy Director's calendars and schedules appointments and meetings based upon personal knowledge of the workload and current issues of importance.
Disseminate information on behalf of the Director and Deputy Director.
Schedule travel arrangements and submit travel vouchers and reports.
Exercise confidentiality for all assignments in accordance with required policies, procedures and requirements.
Review correspondence and documents presented for Director?s signature for proper spelling, grammar, format, arrangement of material, and adherence to established policies and requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Minimum Qualifications: SECRETARY (OFFICE AUTOMATION) GS-08:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing official correspondence; using automation systems to complete assignments; and maintaining files and/or records.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Minimum Qualifications: SECRETARY (OFFICE AUTOMATION) GS-09:
One year of specialized experience which includes preparing official correspondence; providing instruction on using automation systems; and reviewing outgoing correspondence for accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
