This position serves as the Emergency Actions Specialist of the Justice Command Center's alternate facility, the Emergency Relocation Facility (ERF), located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Justice Management Division, Security and Emergency Planning Staff (SEPS), Office of Command Resilience in Berryville, VA.

As an Emergency Actions Specialist, you may be responsible for:
Directing the conduct and completion of full-scale, partial-scale and remedial exercises to determine the state and local ability to implement respective emergency plans in response to an incident.
Preparing and presenting evaluation team and exercise player orientations on the purposes and procedures of exercise evaluation.
Coordinating and managing triggers regarding the activation of the Justice Emergency Notification System (JENS).
Implementing policies, plans and strategies necessary for ensuring the uninterrupted performance of the DOJ's Primary Mission Essential Functions (PMEFs).
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or trial period.
- Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.
- You must meet all eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement and continue to meet these requirements throughout the hiring process. Offers can be rescinded if requirements are not met.

- You must be able to pass a polygraph.
- You must be able to perform shift work, to include days and night shifts.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Emergency Action Specialist, (GS-0301-13), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to the series and grade you are applying to.
To qualify for the GS-0301-13:
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as:
Monitoring or reporting on the status or progress of Emergency Management tasks or Emergency Management Projects;
Assisting in managing 24-hour operational activities at a classified emergency operations center; AND
Instructing on the implementation of developed or modified emergency management or response directives.
