Duties

You will complete routine installation, maintenance, and repairs on electric power control equipment, distribution lines, or electric-generating equipment. You will work from building plans and engineering drawings to repair existing electrical systems, controls, and equipment. You will test and troubleshoot power distribution systems based on grounded and ungrounded electrical system theory. You will troubleshoot high voltage lines (e.g., overhead, underground) to diagnose faults.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICIAN without more than normal supervision: 1) Operating high voltage electrical distribution systems, circuits, and equipment. 2) Reading blueprints, electrical schematics, circuit diagrams to perform the job. 3) Monitoring equipment for auto transfer. 4) Utilizing hand and power tools to repair and test electrical systems.
