Serves as the Traffic Management Coordinator at a level 12 radar approach control facility.
Duties
The Traffic Management Coordinator regulates the number of aircraft that can be accepted within a Terminal area and restricts altitudes and/or routes to be flown a specific period of time. A level 12 radar approach control facility is characterized by a traffic density measure of 100 or more operations per hour. Develops and initiates flow procedures as required to regulate the flow of aircraft to the maximum number of aircraft that can be expeditiously and safely accepted at the airports. Assesses the Terminal's capacity and projects what can be handled, taken into the consideration the demand and translating the demand into rate of movement. Issues, without prior approval, appropriate flow control restrictions to adjacent facilities as appropriate to space aircraft, hold aircraft, reroute and distribute the flow of traffic to equalize workload among centers. Follows agency policy when issuing flow control restrictions and forecasts. Maintains a continuous awareness of the traffic flow, status of NAVAIDS, weather conditions and traffic forecasts to preclude situations which would cause sector situations which would cause sector saturation, excessive in-route and terminal delays, flights within undesirable atmospheric conditions and other factors detrimental to the expeditious flow of traffic.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications for Traffic Management Coordinator (TMC) positions in the terminal and en route options: Specialized Experience Required for TMC Positions:Must have been facility rated or area certified in a CPC/TMC/S at an ATO terminal/en route facility.Rating and Evaluation Factors: In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, candidates will be rated in accordance with the instructions on FAA Form 3330-43-1 (dated 6/00), Rating of Air Traffic Experience for AT Movement.
