Duties

SUMMARY Continued... To instruct in initial skills courses utilizing approved curriculum IAW AETC instructions in support of the Undergraduate Cyber career field. To perform all classroom related activities along with supporting course curriculum and development/revision efforts. DUTIES Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Undergraduate Cyber Training courses, ensuring that courses comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and training objectives. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Instructs students through assigned blocks of instruction at basic and/or advanced levels. Studies course objectives, technical orders, and other materials to prepare for assigned days of instruction. Develops and/or revises lesson plans and training materials. Serves as the subject matter specialist in the development and/or revision of training materials such as study guides, workbooks, written tests, progress checks, etc. Prepares daily lesson plans. Represents Undergraduate Cyber Training courses with a variety of installation and functional area organizations and works on special projects as directed. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with all squadron personnel and 81 Training Group personnel.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1712, Training Instructor series. **THIS IS A COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF THE AIR FORCE (CCAF) POSITION** SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s); Supervising or administering a training program; Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results; Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. OR EDUCATION: Applicant has successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicant has a combination of experience as described in the job opportunity announcement and education. Therefore, I have a combination of experience and education. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts. **For Community College of the Air Force GS-1712 positions** Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of training administration, policies and procedures to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization. 2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 3. Ability to plan, organize, adjust, and direct work functions to meet program requirements and objectives of a small to medium sized organization. 4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 5. Knowledge of instructional design, materials development, test and measurement principles, techniques and objectives. 6. Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of instruction and training aids and devices used in training programs. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
