Requirements

Qualifications

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. You qualify for this position at the GS-13 level (starting salary $104,008) if you possess the following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-12) in the Federal Service.  This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience as a technical expert and IT Project Manager with IT operations experience for field and region; and Experience providing expert guidance, planning, implementation and direction for regional and disaster customer support; or Experience as a regional/disaster systems administrator that coordinates multiple IT operations for field and region. In addition to the minimum qualifications described above, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below, equivalent to the GS-13 level:  Attention to detail- Is through when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service- Works with clients and customers (that is any individual who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces and including general public, general individuals who work in the agency, other agencies or organizations outside the Government to assess their needs, provide information or assistance resolve their problems or satisfy their expectations: knows about their available products and services.  Oral Communication- Express information (for example ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of information (for example, technical sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listening to others, attends nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.  Problem Solving- Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information uses sound judgement to generate and evaluate alternatives and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. NOTE: Qualifications are based on breadth/level of experience.
