THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This ND National Guard position is for a BASE SERVICES MANAGER, Position Description Number D2042000 and is part of the ND 119 Force Support Squadron, National Guard.

Duties

As the Base Services Manager you will, evaluate, plan, organize, and direct Base Services functions in support of federal, state, and local missions. Ensures Services combat readiness is achieved through the analysis, supervision, development, and implementation of Base Services programs, missions, functions, activities, and events. Serves as the primary point-of-contact for wing Services matters. Provides technical guidance and recommendations regarding program operations and effectiveness to squadron commander on a daily basis. Manages the base Subsistence and Food Services Programs. Plans requirements for unit training assemblies, annual training exercises, deployments, and humanitarian support missions. Prepares, manages, and maintains a comprehensive annual budget and related contracts for Services training, equipment, and supplies, as well as official travel within the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and Military Personnel (MILPERS) appropriations.

Requirements

  • NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the ND National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the ND National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the ND National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males bon after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposition is mandatory.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Spe 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

MAX MILITARY GRADES: SMSgt COMPATIBILE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 3F1X1 AFSC is not a disqualifying factor of eligibility, however, selected applicant must obtain the compatible AFSC. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 36 months experience or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions; which includes: 1) experience developing and recommending policy; 2) organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations; 3) experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures; 4) experience preparing written communications and oral presentations; 5) experience leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. You must also possess the experience, training or education to support your claim for the competency statements listed within the assessment questionnaire. Refer to "How you will be Evaluated" section of this announcement.
