This position serves as the Time and Leave Clerk for Social Work Service. The position is located under the guidance of the Administrative Officer, Social Work Service.

Duties

Manages, processes and tracks administrative correspondence. Responds to requests both verbal and written and prepares typed responses. Supports all administrative timekeeping functions for Social Work Service. Tracking the signed documents for all Delegation of Authority for Time and Leave Groups for compliance. Knowledge of computerized payroll procedures required for the input of payroll data. Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00am - 4:30pm Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process. Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/22/2023. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but is not limited to, Maintains and applies current policies according to VA Hospital and clinic regulations, including staffing and scheduling policies related to time and leave at the Orlando VA Medica.1 Center. Maintains computerized time and leave for approximately 200 employees (Social Workers and administrative staff) of the Social Work Service. Utilizes applicable directive, regulations, policies, standard operating procedures, and Orlando VA Medical Center memoranda to ensure proper timekeeping techniques. Posts daily time worked; annual (Al) and sick {SL) leave; military leave (ML) authorized absences {AA); leave without pay {LWOP}; absences without !eave (AWOL); overtime {OT) and compensatory time (CT) request; on-the-job injury (worker's compensation (COP).: non-pay (NP};holiday pay (HW) and excused holiday time (HX); unscheduled work hours or part time (HW) and excused holiday time (HX}; unscheduled work hours for part time employees {RG}; and corrections, when necessary. Provided explanations of occurrences for authorized absence, travel status, traumatic injury, military eave, jury dutv, unscheduled duty h_??urs and advanced sick or annual leave. He/she informs supervisors and employees, on a bi-weekly basis, of compensatory balances to avoid forfeiture or conversion to pay status. OR ,Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a successfully completed four (4) years of education above high school level leading to a bachelor's degree in any field. OR, Combination of Experience & Education: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an appropriate combination of specialized experience and education. NOTE: Transcripts (unofficial or official) must be submitted with your application materials. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: ClericalCompliancePlanning and Evaluating Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Thought most of the work is sedentary, the incumbent must be able to walk, stand, bend, climb, reach, and lift/carry boxes of records, files, papers, and supplies. Proper body mechanics must be utilized during office activities.
