Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As an Intergovernmental Affairs Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Working on a range of programmatic matters, often of a sensitive nature, with special emphasis on program policy analysis and coordination of crosscutting issues.
Following and supporting established DHHS procedures, directives and policies, and if needed modifies procedures and guidelines. Prioritizing work to meet established goals and deadlines. Adjusting positively to changes in workload and priorities.
Researching and defending policy and program issues and preparing and analyzing position papers for use by the Regional Director (RD). Coordinating, compiling and analyzing statistical information pertinent to IEA programs and initiatives.
Attending significant meetings and representing the Regional Director (RD) at meetings, conferences, etc., with representatives of other government agencies, special interest and client groups. Often has the authority to speak for the RD and make commitments on the RD's behalf. Following-up on decisions or requests that emanate from these meetings and keeps RD apprised of discussions.
Developing and implementing standard operating procedures regarding IEA communications with intergovernmental organizations, OPDIVs and STAFFDIVs.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications:
Must at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing all of the following duties: 1. Serving as an advisor and/or consultant on trends and issues affecting policies and programs associated with areas such as healthcare and/or human services; 2. Developing and presenting information to a variety of stakeholders on program initiatives/policies; 3. Working with assigned interagency or interdepartmental work groups on fact-finding, analyses and/or making recommendations to senior officials about national issues.
