The person in this position serves as the Simulation Technology Specialist, a technical expert who supports the instructional technologies that support a state-of-the-art simulated learning environment and enables student learning and practice of patient care skills in the South Texas VA Medical Center Simulation Center, San Antonio, TX.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), No person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. You must be proficient in basic written and spoken English in order to meet the requirements of this position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-6 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes providing programmatic support to an education or training department; assisting an instructor of an adult education program or using technical and patient care skills educating patients or knowledge of interactive learning /simulation; performing administrative duties using automated programs and software; preparing equipment and computers related to interactive simulation; developing and maintaining calendar of activities; preparing detailed instructional documents; and participating in development and coordination of trainings. Note: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hour worked per week.
